Weld repairs are one of FSM's core competencies. Our skilled, experienced welders replace worn material using the correct weld procedures. Our master journeymen field machinists then machine the weld repairs back to OEM specifications. Field System Machining offers the entire range of field welding services, including MIG, TIG, and ARC solutions. We can produce qualified welding procedures and we offer manual, automated and robotic welding repairs. In collaboration with our partner companies we provide preheat and post-weld stress relief solutions, metallurgical testing, boresonic inspections, weld radiography, x-ray inspections, and all other NDE and NDT testing procedures.
Since 1978, we've pioneered or refined numerous innovative welding techniques. For example, our revolutionary FSM 01-625 "Cold Cast Iron" Welding System is one of only a handful in existence that quickly and easily produces welds of exceptional strength on most ferrous and nonferrous metals, without the need for conventional preheat, post heat or stress relieving. It readily joins dissimilar metals (excluding white metals), is easily machineable and may be polished to a mirror finish.
The technology allows us to weld cast iron and dissimilar metals while eliminating problems associated with cracks and side arcing. In most applications no preheat or post heat treatments are. FSM O 1-625 welds most types of ferrous and nonferrous metals or joins any combination of dissimilar metals, except white metals.
